From Braveheart to the Outlaw King

Outlaw King will not be considered an equal bookend to Braveheart's first part of the story of the Scottish Rebellion, but it should not be considered a failure by Mackenzie. The history presented is debatable, but it's close enough to warrant some nice scenes and a series of muddy battles.

Darkest Hour (****) is the other side of Dunkirk

Wright has made a film that plays a good contrast to Christopher Nolan's superior Dunkirk. We see the threat that looms at home before it strikes abroad. So much is at stake, the tension is unbearable, yet Churchill finds a way. Good Lord does he ever.
