Avengers: Infinity War (****) doesn’t need our opinions (spoiler free review)

#avengers #infinitywar You know what you're getting when you walk in to the theater. This is less a (spoiler free) review than a complaint about the inevitability of it all. Still, the only way you can be disappointed is if you know how meaningless it all is...or if you think they're never making another movie.

I, Tonya (*****) – Fall, fall again

I, Tonya - 2017 Director Craig Gillespie Screenplay by Steven Rogers Starring Margot Robbie, Sebastian Stan, Allison Janney, Julianne Nicholson, Bobby Cannavale, Caitlin Carver, Paul Walter Hauser For all of the stupidity, abuse and backwards ways of thinking, I never could get past the idea that Tonya Harding couldn't be that bad. The fact that the chosen hero of "the incident" Nancy Kerrigan … Continue reading I, Tonya (*****) – Fall, fall again

Logan Lucky (****1/2) is Ocean’s on a budget

This film is a perfect Sunday afternoon flick. Low commitment and it doesn't cure the world's ills. There are some touching moments like the last time you hear that John Denver song. There is some amount of overdoing it with the accent, especially on the peripheral characters. It's a minor quibble, though. If you like movies, but aren't shooting for the moon, this is it. Where else are you going to hear Patsy Cline in a bar?

It really extends on the premise on how we want to be governed. Do we want to fulfill our own destiny, or do we want to push that responsibility to the side in wait of the judgement of others who may or may not be wiser.

The Apparition: The only thing we have to fear is bad cinema

The Apparition - 2012 Written and Directed by Todd Lincoln Starring Ashley Greene, Sebastian Stan, Tom Felton, Juliana Guill, Luke Pasqualino, Suzanne Ford There are lots of dumb aspects to The Apparition: The acting: There are plenty of decent actors in the film.  Felton spent the better part of a decade being one of the nemeses of Harry Potter. … Continue reading The Apparition: The only thing we have to fear is bad cinema
