Netflix’ Gunpowder Milkshake (***) is on the Wick spectrum
…this is mostly an excuse to show some very capable killer ladies strut their stuff on screen for in just under two hours. This is more than enough for me.

The film is not a work of genius. If you took away the leads, it’d be pretty boring. I loved every minute of it, and so did Em. I am not sure they could pull off another film with this gimmick, but I definitely think I will enjoy watching what each of these two do in the future of action comedy.
“After four Avengers films, they’ve finally made the perfect one. There’s but one overly gratuitous moment for me. It easily washes out, though, when the rest of the film feels so comfortable, so tense and anything but inevitable.”
“What possible strengths the story could have are undermined in its own ridiculousness. Two great performances by the late Paxton and Headley seem out of place when contrasted by the rest of the cast. “
Even if I never watch it again, this wasn’t a waste of my time. It’s not enough to make me see the next one in theaters, but it’s definitely not the overwrought mess we saw the first time.
#avengers #infinitywar You know what you’re getting when you walk in to the theater. This is less a (spoiler free) review than a complaint about the inevitability of it all. Still, the only way you can be disappointed is if you know how meaningless it all is…or if you think they’re never making another movie.
