“If you ever liked the creatures or know someone who really would, give it a shot. For me it’s a level above the TNMNT movie from 1990. It’s better looking, of course. And it doesn’t have Corey Feldman.”
“After four Avengers films, they’ve finally made the perfect one. There’s but one overly gratuitous moment for me. It easily washes out, though, when the rest of the film feels so comfortable, so tense and anything but inevitable.”

Harbour is actually really good as Hellboy. He makes the character within the lines that Perlman draws, but he also makes it very much his own. There is much more nuance with fewer annoying characters to bounce off of in this rendition. He’s at least on par with his incredible predecessor.
“It’s a rough haul either way, but the newer story has a bit more acting in it overall, even if it’s not quite enough to recommend.”
“The concept of the film is relatively simple, Big with super powers. If we limit our expectations to this idea, we’re in for a decent surprise. The characters are painted simply, but given a shade by a plot that seems predictable in hindsight. The pleasant part to the viewer is one enjoys the film enough to be swept into the story without necessarily considering that fact.”
“If I could, I would edit out most of the dialogue spoken by anyone but Hiccup, Astrid, Valka, Stoick and Abraham’s Grimmel the Grisly. It would not change the comprehension of the story one bit and it would definitely allow us to enjoy Toothless and his White Fury more. Anyone who owns cats will like this film for their interactions alone.”
“Em is excited at the prospects of this film. She looks forward to seeing Captain take over a leadership role with the Avengers. Conversations drift back and forth between characters as she imagines whose place she will supplant. This is not excitement for girl power. It’s just a person who enjoys the evolution of the Marvel Universe. Will this supplant her love for Tony, Peter Parker or Loki? Does it have to? Em doesn’t think so.”
Like anything, though, it’s a vote to see better films of a various cultures when one supports a variety of films from those different cultures. I enjoyed learning a bit about the history of Singapore and I look forward to discovering more. At some point, perhaps we’ll get more epic stories. For now, I will settle for being entertained, a bit more educated…and happy.
“The greatness of this series is in its ability to mix action, emotion, mythology and philosophy effortlessly and quite earnestly. Whether one believes in the premise, we understand that the characters believe it. This makes it as important to us as it is to them. “
#KDrama #Champion #DonLee #Dongseokma “When, one of the bad guy bosses of Champion describes his body as “efficient,” my lack of understanding of Korean culture makes me hesitate to assume it’s a mistaken translation. If by efficient, they mean “he’s likely to win in a fight, but would rather avoid the fight,” I would have to agree.”
