This Child’s Play (**) should have been left in the box
This will likely be the last Child’s Play not played by Brad Dourif for me. Based on the Box Office compared to budget, they may squeeze a few more of this iteration out, but the results with be diminishing.

Sylvester Stallone understands the concept of little victories as well as anyone since Tom Laughlin brought Billy Jack into town the first time to fight for everyone who wouldn’t. Unironically, it was hippies he was protecting then. Flowers in the gun barrel didn’t work as well as kicking ass back then, either.

3 From Hell (****) comes back around
These three films are the pinnacle of Zombie’s career. His Halloween remakes may have grossed more, but this is HIS artistic statement. They are far from perfect, but they are also unforgettable. If you enjoyed the first two in the series, this will not disappoint.

Late Night (***1/2) is the new talent becoming a skill
This film would is better than anything of it’s kind in the ’80’s and it’s better than most comedies in the last decade. It’s just not a high bar.

Forgotten Gem: Jacob’s Ladder is a nightmare of riches
This type of film has not been attempted since it’s most directly inspired The Sixth Sense in 1999. The Bruce Willis movie used a much more straightforward approach and subsequently scored much higher gains at the box office.
